Colombo - Safari along Bentota River - Turtle Incubator

Arriving at COLOMBO, the capital of the island, also called “The Pearl of the Indian Ocean”. Transfer through the tropical nature to the town Bentota. We will sail along Bentota ganga river, around the massive mangrove trees that will allow us to discover the forest tunnels that have been created above the river. We will enjoy the observation of half-meter bats, birds and dragons that will be a special experience and easy refreshment after your arrival.

The survival of sea turtles for the next generation depends on the facilities we will visit. We will see several-day old turtles here.

Relax on the beach in Induruwa.

Garden of Spice - Mine of Month Stones - Museum of Traditional Masks - Fortress Galle

On the way to Galle we will visit the Garden of Spice where we will discover the magic of Ayurveda and herbs that have been used for thousands of years in natural healing. We will learn what a moon stone is and how it is mined, we will also find out which traditional Sri Lankan mask you should have at home to be successful in business or have a happy marriage.

The colonial city Galle has retained a certain European character. The Portuguese built the first fortress to resist the attacks from the Sri Lankan kingdoms in the north. After the Dutch took over the coastal sites, they improved the defensive system of the fortress, extended the ditch on the mainland and improved the walls and bastions. The British did not do many changes, so the atmosphere of Dutch days has remained in Galle. We will enjoy the view from walls of Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO) to the Indian Ocean and walk along the lighthouse, in the harbour and the historic centre where you can find a number of lace and carving craftsmen.

Yala National Park (also known as Ruhun National Park) is the second largest national park in Sri Lanka and this place looks like from the Jungle Book. We will have a great chance to meet marabou storks, elegant peacocks, clever monkeys, deer, buffalo and with a bit of luck a leopard beast.

We will visit the small and sleepy mountain village Ella which is surrounded by lush green tea plantations as far as your eye can see.

Ella - Ravana Fall - Nine Arch Bridge - Little Adam's Peak

We will not miss a visit of the Ravana Fall named after the legendary king of Sri Lanka on the way to Ella. The legend says that Ravana kidnapped Princess Sita and hid it in the caves behind the waterfall. The Nine Arch Bridge, also called the Sky Bridge, is a demonstration and one of the best examples of railway construction in the country during the colonial era.

We will go through the picturesque path between the tea plantations to Little Adam’s peak. We will enjoy the view of the massive Ella Rock and Ella Gap Pass from the top.
